Safeguard the security of the Senate with the elite LEGO Star Wars Senate Commando Troopers battle pack! As featured in The Clone Wars animated TV series, this crack team of highly trained soldiers is armed to the teeth with weaponry. Fire the stud blasters then seat the trooper on the rotating base and unleash a hail of studs with the never-before-seen rapid shooter! This amazing battle pack includes 4 minifigures with weapons: A Senate Commando Captain and 3 Senate Commandos.

THE REVIEW:

Back in 2008, for the “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” film, viewers were introduced to the Senate Commandos, an elite unite in the Senate Guard in Coruscant responsible for the safety of government officials of the Galactic Republic.  The Senate Commando’s would eventually be assimilated by the Red Guard under Supreme Chancellor Palpatine.

But in a cool LEGO set for $12.99, people get a Senate Commando Captain and three Senate Commandos plus a weapon that actually shoots out.

But first, let’s take a look at the minifigures!

With this set going for $9.99-$12.99, immediately as a collector, I see this set as a bargain! With minifigures literally being sold for around $5 each or more online, the fact is that you get four, which is great for those who like to army build.

You get one Senate Commando Captain and three Senate Commandos, and when you remove the helmet, the three commandos give a scowl while the captain gives off a smirk.

The Senate Commando Captain has the distinction of white printing on the body and helmet.  And there are printing on both sides of the body.

As for weapons, you get four blasters, while two of the blasters has an extension for the back of the weapon.

As far as the primary weapon, it’s an easy build and the cool part about it is that if you turn the wheel like knob, the blue Lego pieces on front of the weapon shoot out (one at a time).  Because the blue pieces are easy to lose after being shot (surprisingly, it shoots quite far and there is quite a bit of power into shooting the piece, so make sure your children doesn’t aim this weapon at another human being or pet.  LEGO adds about eleven extra blue pieces, which is great!  But I emphasize, if there is one thing I do recommend for parents, to make sure they don’t shoot the weapon in a carpet in which the pieces can easily be lost.

The weapon can easily rotate and its legs are easily bendable.  The back side of the weapon can fit a single minifigure.

Overall, this LEGO STAR WARS set will entertain the Star Wars collector, LEGO AFOL (Adult Fan of LEGO) and children.

For one, you get four minifigures and a weapon that can shoot Lego pieces for less than $13.  You get extra Senate Commandos for army building and you get a lot for your money with this set alone!

While the Senate Commando’s will most likely appeal to the fans following “STAR WARS – The Clone Wars”, I still feel the Senate Commandos are the coolest LEGO minifigures due to its blue outfit, menacing faces and helmets.   These are cool figures overall and I’m glad this set is sold for under $13 for four minifigures plus the weapon.

Again, the weapon is cool and the fact that it shoots, adds extra value but also can lead to headache for parents, so it’s important to let the children know not to aim the toy at people’s faces or their pet’s face because there is a good amount of power in terms of these LEGO pieces shooting out.  They are also fairly easy to lose.

But the “LEGO STAR WARS – Senate Commando Troopers (75088)” is an awesome set that every LEGO STAR WARS fan should purchase!  The overall set is a great value for the the money!
