life in plastic: LEGO NINJAGO: Masters of Spinjitzu – Ninja Glider (30080) Review

January 17, 2015 by

I have not been disappointed by a LEGO NINJAGO polybag release at all. There is no doubt that the Ninja Glider has a cool factor associated with it and if you are a fan of the series,  you really can’t go wrong with this polybag release being priced at under $4-5.

LEGO SET: LEGO NINJAGO: Masters of Spinjitzu – Ninja Glider

ITEM #: 30080

PRICE: $3.99

AGES: 6-12

Once available at TARGET stores and also released with the SUN Newspaper in the UK as a promotional item is the LEGO NINJAGO – Ninja Glider (30080).

The polybag features the character Zane and was a popular polybag that people snatched up in droves back in 2011 and the only way to get it was on eBay.

Let’s first take a look at ZANE, the Ninja of Ice.

The minifigure features ZANE in his original outfit with his ninja sash belt, his golden emblem which represents the Element of Ice.  Printing is only one side for this minifigure and he comes with a black katana sword.

The wrap is removable from his head and is nicely sculpted all around.

The ninja glider is pretty cool as these blades act as wings.  The blades are moveable and  Zane’s hands grabs hold of the glider through the front.

I have to give it to LEGO for creating a cool but also interesting polybag set.  While one can’t fathom how blades can act as a glider, for LEGO NINJAGO, anything is possible and for fans of the series, the LEGO NINJAGO – Ninja Glider looks too cool to pass up!

I have a theory of LEGO polybags (with minifigures) and that they are so quick to sale if you see them at retail and that if you see one, you best buy it ASAP!

And back in 2011, with ninjas always popular with kids, the LEGO NINJAGO – Ninja Glider was snatched up quickly. While the minifigure is not as detailed as today’s ZANE or other polybagged minifigures, the bladed glider in combination with the minifigure was too cool to pass up!

I have not been disappointed by a LEGO NINJAGO polybag release at all. Each of the minifigure released showcase a cool ninja factor that all kids and even AFOL’s like to see, especially when sold for under $4-5.

If you are a LEGO NINJAGO fan and find these cheap on online auctions, the LEGO NINJAGO – Ninja Glider is worth checking out!
