PlayFest 2014 line-up includes Kevin Kiner (Star Wars: The Clone Wars), Oscar Araujo (Castlevania-Lords of Shadow), Cris Velasco (God of War), David Garcia (Deadlight), and Jeremy Zuckerman and Benjamin Wynn (Legend of Korra and Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness)
Programming will include a symphony concert, workshops, conferences, face-to-face meetings and brotherhood/fan activities.
(August 19, 2014- Úbeda, Spain) Sohail Castle in Fuengirola, Spain will vibrate in September with the melodies of the popular animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars, part of the most famous and prolific science fiction saga of all time, thanks to the presence of the composer Kevin Kiner. It will be poerformed during the PlayFest symphonic concert. PlayFest is a festival dedicated to the music for animation and videogames, celebrating its third edition this September 11-14 in the city of Málaga.
Attendees will experience a unique concert from the popular Star Wars saga, which will include the world premiere of the main theme for Star Wars: Rebels the new animated series created by Lucasfilm and Disney to be aired next autumn 2014. This world premiere of Star Wars: Rebels theme will be a part of a suite that composer Kiner is preparing for the concert at Sohail Castle on September 13th.
That concert will also include works by other guests including Honorary President of the festival Cris Velasco (God of War, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine, Tron: Evolution), David Garcia (Deadlight, Zack Zero, Rime), Jeremy Zuckerman and Benjamin Wynn (Avatar: The Last Airbender, Legend of Korra, Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness) and the long-awaited concert suite from Óscar Araujo’s work for Castlevania: Lords of Shadow.
In addition to the symphonic concert, PlayFest will offer workshops in music composition, video game programming and creation of animated productions, with lectures by guest for students, professionals or people interested on the production side of this industry. There will also be personal one-on-one interviews with the composers called “Face to Face†where the aspiring professionals will have the chance to have a close and personal feedback about working in this industries.
There will be plenty of free screenings as well, including selections from Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra curated by the own composers, and the documentary Insert Coin’ focused on creating professional video games in Spain which will be introduced by the composer, David Garcia.
In the “spirit of brotherhood†that the festival is known for, PlayFest 2014 won’t lack moments of friendly interaction between guests and attendees during the opening reception, after-concert party, signing session, fellowship meal and the beach soccer game to close the event.
