We are here at the Los Angeles Convention Center (LACC) for Anime Expo 2011.
And I’ve heard that thousands of people in costumes converge to this event and what a sight! Thousands of people are at this event and everyone is having a festive time!
Although not as crazy or packed as what we saw with E3 (also held at the LACC) a few weeks ago, still…seeing these large crowds trying to get into the South Hall where the Exhibitor’s Hall event is located was a sight to see.
Obviously, this year is dominated by the visual appearance of Miku Hatsune, the virtual idol of Panasonic’s Vocaloid software. Hatsune had a sold-out concert (using the latest in 3D projector technology) at the event, also the event is like a mini-E3 with the appearance of niche Japanese video game companies at the event as well. But the interesting part of AX is the appearance of Danny Choo and many of the companies that he works with, also appearing at AX.
Suffice to say, there is a lot of things going on at Anime Expo 2011 this year and from what we have seen thus far, everyone is enjoying the event!
