Classic Hollywood: Mary Pickford – Caprice (1913)

Mary Pickford will truly be a legend in the film industry because of her contributions not just for become “America’s Sweetheart” as an academy award winning motion picture star but she was one of the well-known faces when it came to moving images, silent films.

Mary also co-founded the film studio United Artists and one of the founders of the “Academy Motion Picture Arts and Sciences”.  So, as a performer, producer and her involvement in the industry at the time, she help shape Hollywood.  She was also one of the most powerful businesswomen in the world of all time.

A photo that I have of Mary Pickford is the one shown above.  It is a reproduced image on 8×11, grayscale.  But on the bottom it says “This is a Picture #2 of a Series of 6”.   UPDATE: Thanks to Derek B. for identifying the still from the film  “Caprice” from 1939.
