Back in 2012, Dir.F, a label manager at Tsubasa Records wanted to create a new music project featuring provisional female members. While the music and lyrics for the group would be created by music producer, Hidefumi Kenmochi.

The name of this group project would be “Suiyoubi no Campanella”, which translates to Wednesday Campanella.

That same year, Dir.F was at a house party for a friend and he would meet KOM_I and he invited her to join Wednesday Campanella as one of the provisional female vocalists and the group would upload two tracks on YouTube that year, “Oz” and Kukai”.

Wanting to push their album later that year, the group’s first CD titled “Suiyoubi no Campanella Demo 1” was sold at Design Festa Tokyo Autumn.

The following year, KOM_I would perform live performances with just her on stage and the group released their first mini album titled “Crawl to Saka Agari” and it was released at Village Vanguard Shimokitazawa.

But it wasn’t until 2014, when the group’s track “Momotaro” appeared on J-WAVE and would become popular.
In 2016, Wednesday Campanella would make their American debut at SXSW in Texas and would perform in July in San Francisco at J-POP Summit Festival.

While the first five mini albums were released by Tsubasa Records, the group would be signed by Warner Records and would release their first major label album “UMA” in 2016.

And since then, Wednesday Campanella’s popularity has skyrocketed. From a promotion and music video with Toyota for the Prius, multiple television performances, magazine interviews and live performances throughout Japan, KOM_I also appeared on the popular variety show “SMAP x SMAP” with SMAP (who also sung along with her).

J!-ENT’s Dennis A. Amith had the opportunity to interview KOM_I the day after Wednesday Campanella’s performance at J-POP SUMMIT.

One Billion People Expected to Watch the Countdown Extravaganza on TOSHIBA VISION

Toshiba Corporation is, once again, an official sponsor for New York Times Square’s world famous New Year’s Eve celebrations for 2017.

The world’s biggest countdown party, with more than one million expected revelers, will feature a series of events and entertainment, which will be shown on the giant TOSHIBA VISION dual LED screen atop One Times Square, below the festive Times Square New Year’s Eve Ball.
As the clock strikes one minute before midnight on December 31st, all eyes will be on TOSHIBA VISION as it screens the 60-second light and sound countdown extravaganza. One billion viewers are expected to watch the countdown from all around the globe via television and online broadcast.

The countdown party itself will include live music performances by superstar celebrities, such as Mariah Carey, Thomas Rhett, DNCE and Rachel Platten. Also, Bill Nye “the Science Guy” will take to the stage to commemorate the 25th anniversary of ExploraVision (http://www.exploravision.org/), an educational science and technology competition held in North America by Toshiba Corp. and the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA).

During the day, TOSHIBA VISION will showcase international countdowns for major cities in different time zones as follows (all times in EST):

10.00am: Tokyo, Japan

11.00am: Beijing, China / Singapore / Manila, Philippines

12.00pm: Jakarta, Indonesia / Hanoi, Vietnam / Bangkok, Thailand

1.00pm: Dhaka, Bangladesh

1.30pm: New Delhi, India

3.00pm: Dubai, UAE

4.00pm: Riyadh, Saudi Arabia / Moscow, Russia

5.00pm: Cairo, Egypt / Athens, Greece / Istanbul, Turkey

The hourly countdown for New York will begin at 5.59pm.

“THE GREAT INDOORS” STAR JOEL McHALE TO HOST “PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARDS 2017”

The Only Major Awards Show Honoring Fan Favorites in Movies, Music, Television and Digital, to be Broadcast LIVE, Wednesday, Jan. 18, on CBS

CBS and The People’s Choice Awards announced today that Joel McHale, comedian and star of CBS’ THE GREAT INDOORS, will host PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARDS 2017, honoring fan favorites in movies, music, television and digital. The winners will be announced during the live broadcast from Microsoft Theater L.A. Live Wednesday, Jan. 18 (9:00-11:00 PM, live ET/delayed PT) on the CBS Television Network.

“The people have spoken, and they want Jimmy Kimmel to host the 2017 Oscars! And the people have also spoken, and said that it would be okay if I hosted the 2017 People’s Choice Awards. Well, one person said that. Luckily, that person was Les Moonves, so no one questioned it,” said Joel McHale.

“Joel is a brilliant comedic talent, and the perfect host for this show,” said Executive Producer Mark Burnett. “He is a triple threat. An actor; a writer and a performer, and we look forward to him bringing all of those amazing talents to ‘People’s Choice Awards 2017.’”

Currently, comedian and actor Joel McHale stars in the television comedy THE GREAT INDOORS, on the Network. Previously, he starred in the comedy series “Community,” which aired for six seasons, and was the popular host of the series “The Soup,” which satirized pop culture and current events for 12 seasons. In addition, he appeared in the revival of the cult sci-fi television series, “The X-Files.”

McHale’s feature film credits include “A Merry Friggin’ Christmas,” opposite Robin Williams, the supernatural thriller “Deliver Us from Evil,” the romantic comedy “Blended,” alongside Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore, “Ted,” “What’s Your Number?,” “The Big Year,” “Spy Kids: All the Time in the World in 4D” and “The Informant.”

A successful stand-up comedian, McHale continues to perform his act around the country to sold-out audiences as well as lend his comedic voice to a number of events. In 2014 he hosted the annual White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner in Washington, D.C., and he hosted the 2015 ESPY Awards.

In October, Joel McHale published his part memoir, part how-to guide, Thanks for the Money: How to Use My Life Story to Become the Best Joel McHale You Can Be.

The nominees for PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARDS 2017 were revealed last month. Voting has closed for most categories, but remains open for “Favorite New TV Comedy” and “Favorite New TV Drama” until show night at www.PeoplesChoice.com.

Inbar Lavi and Rob Heaps Lead Cast Golden Globe Winning Actress Uma Thurman to Appear in Guest Starring Role

NEW YORK, NY – November 29, 2016 Bravo Media sets the premiere date for its new original, scripted series “Imposters” (previously announced as “My So Called Wife”), debuting Tuesday, February 7 at 10pm ET/PT and produced by Universal Cable Productions. The series follows Maddie (Inbar Lavi, “Gang Related”), a persona shifting con-artist who is as beautiful as she is dangerous, leaving her unwitting victims tormented when they realize they have been used and robbed of everything – including their hearts. But things get complicated when her former targets, Ezra (Rob Heaps, “Frankenstein and the Vampyre: A Dark and Stormy Night”), Richard (Parker Young, “Suburgatory”) and Jules (Marianne Rendón) team up to track her down.  While pursuing her newest mark, Maddie meets a potential love interest, Patrick (Stephen Bishop, “Being Mary Jane”), which threatens to derail her assignment, much to the chagrin of her mysterious boss, The Doctor. In the series premiere, newlyweds Ava (Maddie) and Ezra’s blissful marriage shatters when he discovers his sweet wife has disappeared with all their money and enough sensitive information to destroy his family if he turns to the authorities for help. As a devastated Ezra reels and searches for answers, Maddie expertly prepares for her next con with her trusted cohorts, Max (Brian Benben, “Dream On”) and Sally (Katherine LaNasa, “The Campaign”). When Richard shows up at Ezra’s door in search of his perfect wife Alice, they realize they’ve been fooled by the same woman and join forces in the hope of finding her to seek revenge.

Golden Globe winning actress Uma Thurman will guest star with a story arc spanning several episodes. Uma will play Lenny Cohen, the ultimate fixer, making her debut in the episode airing February 21, 2017. When the reclusive ring-leader of a group of con artists needs to keep his employees in line or eliminate an enemy, there is only one person for the job – the lethal, articulate and mysterious Lenny Cohen.

As Bravo continues its commitment to the scripted space, “Imposters” joins the network’s “Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce,” set to return in 2017, and “Odd Mom Out,” currently in pre-production.

MARK HAMILL’S POP CULTURE QUEST premieres on Comic­Con HQ on November 15

On November 15th the force will be strong on devices across the nation as Mark Hamill’s Pop Culture Quest comes to Comic–Con HQ. Mark Hamill has been collecting comic books, original artwork, toys and other mementos since the early 1970s and now he gets to share his passion and enthusiasm for collecting in his new web series.

“I’ve been a collector all my life,” said Hamill. “This show is a natural outgrowth of that passion. Now I have an opportunity to collect other people’s collections! I can’t wait to see what’s out there and share it with the world. Collectibles are a living history of who and what we are, so we just might learn something…but there’s no doubt we’re going to have fun!”

This series kicks off at the DC Comics headquarters with the legendary Jim Lee, as the co-publisher and Mark trade favors and end up with their very own pieces of pop culture history. Join Mark throughout the season as Mark Hamill’s Pop Culture Quest uncovers comic book memorabilia, film props, Godzilla, pinball machines and beyond with special guests including monster amasser Scott Zilllner, famous collector Bob Burns and many more!

Hamill will once again team with his friend and Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi producer Howard Kazanjian. Kazanjian was Executive Producer on Raiders of the Lost Ark and served as VP at Lucasfilm during the dramatic expansion of the company in the 1980s. Producer Darren Moorman, whose film Same Kind of Different as Me will be released next year, and longtime collector and vintage show promoter Scott Kinney will round out the producing team as Executive Producers on the series.
