China’s First Visual Rock Band Returns with International Debut, “Pretty but Evil”
Feb 4, 2013, NEW YORK– EINSOF Marketing Group is proud to announce the long-awaited return of China’s first Glam Visual Rock band, Silver Ash!
Formed in the year 2000 in Beijing, China, Silver Ash pioneered China’s rock industry as China’s first visual rock band. Influenced by Japan’s visual rock movement, Silver Ash quickly gained an impressive following and broke release records. Their debut single’s surprising ability to compete with full-length albums changed the face of the Chinese rock industry’s product release structure. Such success positioned Silver Ash to play a significant role in the growing Chinese visual rock movement.
However, in 2003, Silver Ash was subjected to extreme censorship, which stalled record sales, stopped any potential for radio or music video play, and also prevented them from participating in prominent music festivals. Planned US tours in 2003 and 2004 were also canceled. Such difficulties contributed to Silver Ash leaving Scream Records in 2005. Yet despite being unsigned, Silver Ash performed in China as the guest of honor for Japanese rock bands, La’Cryma Christi, Rice, and Gram∞Maria.
Officially reuniting since their final release in 2005, Silver Ash intends to make a full-scale international comeback with their intentional debut, “Pretty but Evil,” digitally released January 4, 2013. A rewritten international version of the single will be released in March 2013, followed by a Japanese version. Silver Ash intends to become a fully international band, and will offer songs in English, Chinese, and Japanese.

We know that celebrity couples often file divorce in America but one of Hong Kong’s celebrity couples are also calling it quits after five years of marriage.
Actor Nicholas Tse and Cecilia Cheung released a statement to the media back on August 22nd that mentioned “personality conflicts” for the couple’s divorce.
The statement also said that both will share custody of their two children and that their happiness and growth will be their priority in their future plans.

All of the documentary films to be shown at the festival were made outside the official Chinese film system – unauthorized, uncensored, and totally independent. These groundbreaking films introduce a new generation of filmmakers who represent the future of Chinese cinema, using new technology to present a vision of China as never seen before. A wide variety of controversial topics and issues like homosexuality, the role of women in society, the forced relocation of citizens which preceded the 2008 Beijing Olympics, drug use, and the inner workings of Chinese law enforcement, are examined in unflinching detail in these seven films.
China Underground opens Friday December 3rd with the premiere of Queer China, “Comrade” China at 7:00pm. The screening will include a Q&A session with several guest speakers and an after-party that will immediately follow. The remaining films will be screened throughout the weekend.
“These brave filmmakers often risk arrest, imprisonment, censure, or worse in order to have their work seen and message heard,” says Manami Iiboshi, programming director of VIZ Cinema. “San Francisco is a bastion of socially conscious and progressive ideas and it’s an honor to give a platform uncensored looks at a variety of important issues going on within Chinese society that are usually kept hidden from the West.”

China’s most prolific queer filmmaker presents a comprehensive historical account of the queer movement in modern China. Unlike any before, this film explores the historical milestones and ongoing advocacy efforts of the Chinese LGBT community. Preceded by a screening of Digital Underground in the People’s Republic (18 mins, Dir: Rachel Tejada), a look at the Chinese independent film scene as documented firsthand by dGenerate Films. The 45-year-old actress who has a small roll in Isaac Julien’s “Better Life told the press at the Venice Film Festival, “I need botox, I am sorry. I don’t look 22 any more. You have to know where you are. I feel at my age now. I am a bit too young to play the grandmother yet, and a bit too old to play Jackie’s girlfriend.”
Even Cheung’s friends have asked her when she would make her return to film and all the Cheung can tell them is, “I never even said the word retire. I am not saying stop forever. I just need to take a break for another stage in my life to take off.”
Actress Barbie Hsu posed with her Madame Tussauds Hong Kong wax figure on Wednesday.
The wax figure is based on her character for the film “Future X-Cops” but the young actress wasn’t thrilled with the results. CRIEnglish reports that Hsu said, “”I think the wax figure is too fat. I hope Madame Tussauds will do something to make the figure lose weight.”

Actress Zhang Ziyi has come under fire from accusations that she had committed fraud for her charity fund to raise money for the victims of the 2008 Sichuan earthquake. On Thursday, Zhang Ziyi answered 100 questions to defend herself from accusation by Internet users.
The actress admitted her inexperience in organizing a donation drive but defended herself and speaking about her involvement in trying to raise money for the donation campaign.

But in 2007, scandal hit Gillian Chung after Edison Chen’s computer revealed nude photos of the starlet (and other starlets). With the 10th Anniversary of the TWINS coming up, the duo are once again reuniting.
