Children love to sing and dance, and for parents…why not look for a DVD that is educational but also fun at the same time!  “Dance to the Music from Nickelodeon is a DVD that features six episodes from Nickelodeon’s popular children shows.  Each are music-themed and features the following episodes:

  • Dora the Explorer – “La Maestra de Musica” -  In this episode, Boots singing friend La Maestra has stopped by.  But as the music teacher is riding her bike to school, her chain on the bike has broken.  She needs to get to school quickly.  Can you help her find the quickest route to the school?
  • Team Umizoomi – “Butterfly Dance” – Milli and Geo can’t wait to see Sophia wearing her butterfly costume for the butterfly dance show.  But Sophia is missing her antennas, wings and jewelry.  Can you help her?
  • Bubble Guppies – “We Totally Rock!” – The bubble guppies are not sure what rock music is.  What happens when they form a band?
  • Go, Diego, Go! – “The Iguana Sing Along” – Iggy is missing and the iguanas can’t do their sing-along and sleep for the winter.  Help Diego find Iggy!
  • Wonder Pets – “Save the Beetles/Save the Fiddler Crab on the Roof” – The Wonder Pets go under the sea to save the Beetles and the Fiddler Crab.
  • Ni Hao, Kai-Lan – “The Ants Dance” – Kai-Lan shows us the ants who are doing their ant dance.  But what happens when the groups of dance each have their own opinion?  Help Kai-Lan bring these ants together to work as a team.

VIDEO & AUDIO:

The episodes featured in “Nickelodeon Favorites: Dance to the Music” are presented in full screen and in Dolby Digital stereo. Animation features vibrant colors and dialogue is clear and understandable. Picture quality is dependent on the series as “Dora the Explorer”, “Go, Diego, Go!” and “Ni Hao, Kai-Lan” are animation-based, “Bubble Guppies” and “Wonder Pets!” tend to combine CG.  But overall, this is for the children and the picture and audio quality is good!

SPECIAL FEATURES:

“Nickelodeon Favorites: Dance to the Music” comes with the Bubble Guppies Sing-Along music videos for “I Need to Rock – Rock It!”.

It’s almost spring time and if you have a toddler who gets easily restless during the break, definitely consider “Nickelodeon Favorites: Dance to the Music”, featuring six episodes that are not just educational, but episodes they can sing and dance to.

With “Dora the Explorer”, in “La Maestra de Musica”, this episode helps your children learn Spanish but also improve their decision-making skills as they try to help a teacher find a quicker way to get to school.

For Team Umizoomi, the series uses math to help children.  In “Butterfly Dance”, children will need to learn how to help a young girl find parts of her costume for her butterfly dance.

In “Bubble Guppies”, for the episode “We Totally Rock!”,  your child can learn about rock n’ roll, the air guitar and instruments but also teamwork.

In “Go, Diego, Go!”, your child can learn about iguanas but also improve their decisio-making skills.

In “Wonder Pets”, it’s a fantasy adventure with two episodes as children need to help the Wonder Pets save the Beetles but also a Fiddler Crab.

And in “Ni Hao, Kai-lan”, your child can learn a little Chinese, learn the importance of team work (and not being selfish) and improve their decision-making skills.

My child was raised watching these Nickelodeon educational children’s shows and I do believe that it helped in his development as he is doing exceptionally well at school, especially when it comes to decision making and also an appreciation for other cultures and languages.

As for special features, the DVD does come with “Bubble Guppies” music videos.

Overall, your young children should be entertained by this release. All episodes are safe for children and parents will also be happy to know that they can learn from each of these episodes and also it will definitely help keep the children occupied during the spring break or just looking for a fun series that they can sing and dance to.

“Nickelodeon Favorites: Dance to the Music” is recommended for parents and their children!
