I have been an avid viewer of “Man vs. Wild”, the Discovery Channel hit show starring Bear Grylls, a former UK Special Forces soldier (and various other military groups) and one of the youngest people to climb Mount Everest.
But its his show “Man vs. Wild” that captivates us. The ability to survive in the harsh desert, the antarctic, the rain forest and showing people what it takes to survive and how to get out in hopes to be rescued.
Now, a 9-year-old boy named Grayson Wynne can thank Bear Grylls for helping him survive the wild.
The young hiker was separated from his family when the family stopped to fix a strap on a horse pack (and the young boy kept walking up the trail unaware his family had stopped) in the woods in of Ashley National Forest in Utah.
The young boy now lost survived his ordeal thanks to the rescuers but also tips he learned from the show.
Grayson shredded his bright colored coat to help mark a path, tied it on trees, left wrappers from a granola bar, even built a shelter overnight.
When the boy was reunited with his parents, the boy told his father “Happy Father’s Day”.
As for his ordeal, Grayson said, “I was really scared. But ‘Man vs. Wild’ tells you how to survive all different terrains.”
