It has been reported on various entertainment sites that Spencer Pratt was trying to sell a sex tape he found of his soon-to-be ex-wife Heidi Montag and playmate Karissa Shannon (according to TMZ, Shannon confirmed with them that there was a tape) together. On Sept. 2nd, a letter of legal action by playmate Karissa Shannon’s law firm was sent to Spencer Pratt.
According to documents posted on TMZ.com, Shannon’s law firm Baker& Hostetler LLP, sent Spencer Pratt a letter for him to return private footage involving Karissa Shannon and Sam Jones III.
The firm has in the letter:
As you know, it had been reported in the press that you were attempting to publish, distribute, sell, license or otherwise exploit filmed footage of Ms. Shannon. According to press reports, you are no longer threatening to do that. This decision is wise. Were you to follow through with your initial threat, Ms. Shannon would file a lawsuit to enjoin the sale and/or distribution and seek monetary damages from you.
The letter goes on to say:
You are aware that it is her property that was taken from her possession. If it is not promptly returned, you will have converted Ms. Shannon’s property for your own purpose, subjecting you to both compensatory and punitive damages.
It is not known if Spencer Pratt has replied to the law firm.
