Popular ’80s actor Corey Haim (38) was pronounced dead on Wednesday morning of an accidental drug overdose according to police Sgt. Frank Albarran.
The actor was taken to Providence St. Joseph Medical Center in Burbank where he was pronounced dead at 2:15 a.m. (PST). Haim’s struggles have been documented on the A&E reality TV show “The Two Cories” in which best friends and onscreen BFF’s Corey Feldman and Corey Haim were known for films such as “The Lost Boys”, “Dream a Little Dream” and a few others.
UPDATE: More details are coming out to the media. According to LAPD coroner spokesperson, Haim had been suffering from flu-like symptons days before and stumbled in front of his mother’s Los Angeles apartment early Wednesday morning.
PEOPLE Magazine has received the following from L.A. County Coroner Assistant Coroner Assistant Chief Ed Winter, “Some time after midnight, he got up, he was dizzy and unsteady on his feet and knelt down. His mom helped him to a bed and he became unresponsive in about a minute or so. She dialed 911 and he was pronounced dead at a local hospital at 2:15 a.m.”
