Interactive Mosaic Debuts at LOLA Launch Party and Gives Fans a Chance to Be Seen On-Air

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. – September 28, 2010 – NBC has unveiled an interactive mosaic for new series “Law & Order: Los Angeles” (“LOLA”).  By visiting http://nbc.com/lolamosaic and clicking “Add me,” fans can add their own Twitter and Facebook profile photos to the dynamic image, which will be featured on-air in an upcoming episode of the show.

The constantly updated canvas gives fans everywhere a chance to appear virtually side by side with “LOLA” cast members and producers.  The mosaic was unveiled at the series launch party last night in Los Angeles, and quickly became populated with images from the red carpet and with pictures of guests who attended the glamorous event at local hot-spot Drai’s at the W Hotel in Hollywood.  Now fans who visit NBC.com will join party attendees and stars alike in the mosaic image which portrays the name of the show against a classic Los Angeles backdrop.

Guests at the launch event watched the mosaic update in real time with party photos on a large plasma screen displayed over the pool at the rooftop party.  Also, guests had their “mug shots” taken at a special “LOLA” booking station.  At the end of the night attendees received an actual coffee mug featuring their mug shot.  Mug shots from the party are also incorporated into the ever-changing “LOLA” mosaic.

“Law & Order: Los Angeles” is the latest iteration of the most successful brand in the history of primetime television.  The procedural crime drama will follow the theme and storylines similar to the “Law & Order”-brand series on the streets of Los Angeles.  The series, from executive producer Dick Wolf, Rene Balcer (“Law & Order”), Blake Masters (“Brotherhood”), Christopher Misiano (“The West Wing”) and Peter Jankowski, is a Wolf Films production in association with Universal Media Studios.

New York-based Hashtag Art, which turns live data streams into art, developed the patent-pending technology used for the LOLA mosaic.
