About TV On The Radio:

TV On The Radio is an indie rock band from Brooklyn featuring Tunde Adebimpe, Kyp Malone, Dave Sitek, Jaleel Bunton and Gerard Smith.  The band burst onto the scene in 2001 with their 18-track demo tape, OK Calculator, which they hid in the couch cushions of coffee shops throughout New York City.  From there, the band released three more studio albums to critical acclaim, often finding themselves atop readers’ choice polls and year-end “Best of” lists.

Their fourth studio album, Nine Types of Light, released today, is the follow-up to the band’s 2008 release, Dear Science.  Nine Types of Light, led by the single, “Will Do,” is filled with songs about longing and love.  The new album also includes more up-tempo post-rock jams such as “No Future Shock” (with vocals by Kyp) and the ’80s-rap-beat “Caffeinated Consciousness.”  TV On The Radio has planned an extensive tour beginning just before the release of Nine Types of Light. They will headline Radio City Music Hall in New York on Wednesday, April 13, the day after the album’s release, and their LIVE ON LETTERMAN webcast on Thursday, April 14 will follow the taping of their performance on the LATE SHOW with DAVID LETTERMAN, which will be broadcast later that evening (11:35 PM-12:37 AM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
