Grant Imahara, co-host of Discovery Channel’s “MythBusters,” will present Craig Ferguson with his twitter-inspired robot skeleton sidekick, dubbed “Geoff Peterson,” on THE LATE LATE SHOW with CRAIG FERGUSON, Monday, April 5.

After joining “the Twitter” in February, Ferguson (@CraigyFerg) nicknamed his followers on the social media platform “the Robot Skeleton Army” and joked on THE LATE LATE SHOW that he needed a skeleton sidekick.  In turn, Imahara, a former animatronics engineer and model maker known for his work on R2D2 and the Energizer Bunny, kicked off a campaign for the construction of a sidekick on March 1 with a tweet that read:

“@CraigyFerg I hear you are looking for a robot sidekick. I think I can help… for a price: get me 100,000 followers. If you can.”

To which, Ferguson immediately followed with:

“Roboskels. Urgent! I need you to follow @grantimahara.  For 100k followers he’ll build a roboskeleton sidekick. Advance my rattly cyborgs!”

By March 2, the 100,000-follower goal was met, and the construction of “Geoff Peterson” began.  THE LATE LATE SHOW has aired three preview videos of Imahara’s construction and both Ferguson and Imahara have continued to tease followers on Twitter with photos and information in anticipation of the April 5 reveal.

THE LATE LATE SHOW with CRAIG FERGUSON regularly airs weeknights (12:37-1:37 AM, ET/PT) following broadcasts of the “Late Show with David Letterman” on CBS.  THE LATE LATE SHOW is executive produced by Peter Lassally and is a 2009 Peabody Award recipient.

“MythBusters” airs Wednesdays on the Discovery Channel.
