In celebration of the 2010 Peabody Awards, THE LATE LATE SHOW with CRAIG FERGUSON presents an encore broadcast of the award-winning episode featuring an interview with Archbishop Desmond Tutu, to air Monday, May 17.

During the Peabody Award luncheon in New York City, also on Monday, May 17, THE LATE LATE SHOW will be presented with the “Excellence in Broadcasting” award.

“This is a show about one of the most powerful, influential, awe-inspiring figures of the 20th and 21st centuries.  A remarkable human being who for some reason said ‘yes’ to being on this show.  I know!  I was as mystified as you,” said Craig Ferguson during the original broadcast of the episode on March 4, 2009.

Born in 1931 in Klerksdorp, Transvaal, South Africa, Tutu, was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1984 for his lifelong efforts to achieve a democratic and just society without racial division.

THE LATE LATE SHOW with CRAIG FERGUSON regularly airs weeknights (12:37-1:37 AM, ET/PT) following broadcasts of the “Late Show with David Letterman” on CBS.  THE LATE LATE SHOW is executive produced by Peter Lassally.
