“THE 38th ANNUAL DAYTIME EMMY(R) AWARDS” TO BE BROADCAST LIVE SUNDAY, JUNE 19, ON THE CBS TELEVISION NETWORK

For the Second Year, Awards Ceremony Will Air from the Las Vegas Hilton

THE 38TH ANNUAL DAYTIME EMMY® AWARDS will be broadcast Sunday, June 19 (8:00-10:00 PM live ET/delayed PT) from the Las Vegas Hilton in Las Vegas on the CBS Television Network.  This is the second time that the star-studded awards ceremony, celebrating the best in daytime television, will take place in Las Vegas.  For the third year in a row, Associated Television International will be producing the telecast.

“The best of daytime will be joined by the best of Las Vegas as some of the greatest entertainers in the world will join us for a celebration of all that is great about daytime television,” said Jack Sussman, Executive Vice President, Specials, Music and Live Events, CBS Entertainment.  “It will be a primetime event for television honoring daytime’s best with non-stop entertainment, guest star surprises and oh, yes, we’ll give out a few awards as well.”

 

Details regarding tickets will be announced at a later date.

 

Nominations will be announced on Wednesday, May 11.

 

The Daytime Emmy Awards recognize outstanding achievement in all fields of daytime television production and will be presented to individuals and programs broadcast from 2:00 AM-6:00 PM during the 2010 calendar year.

 

Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals is the official charity of “Daytime Gives Back,” an independent philanthropic initiative of the daytime television community.  Daytime Gives Back is showcased each year as a highlight segment during the Daytime Emmy Awards television broadcast.

 

THE 38TH ANNUAL DAYTIME EMMY AWARDS is a presentation of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences in cooperation with the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.

 

All balloting for THE 38TH ANNUAL DAYTIME EMMY AWARDS will be compiled by the independent accounting firm of Lutz and Carr, LLP.
