Meanwhile, Gayle is on a mission to show that Gatsby is the best representative of Jersey salons and decides to host her own beauty expo.

Meanwhile, Tamera finds herself pulled in several different directions as she tries to decorate the home in Napa, attend multiple auditions during TV pilot season and learn more about the family wine business. She feels like she is burning the candle at both ends which will affect her ability to land a great acting role.

After spending several weeks in Utah for her movie, Tia begins to feel homesick without her husband and sister. Even though she and Tamera had a big fight and haven’t spoken in a while, Tia invites Tamera and their cousin Jerome for a visit. She also needs her sister’s support because she has been feeling unwell and her symptoms are suspiciously similar to how she felt when she was pregnant with Cree. After being a guest on “Hollywood Girls Night,†Tamera is eager to tackle her next project but feels that her unresolved issues with Tia following their last fight are holding her back.

During his visit, cousin Jerome notices a suspicious mole on Tia’s neck that both he and Tamera urge Tia to get checked out. After brushing it off, Tia becomes curious and decides to do some Internet research which proves to be a mistake because she concludes that the mole is cancerous. Meanwhile, Tamera begins to seriously consider having a baby, but questions if the time is right because of her career goals. Tamera asks Tia if she can watch her son, Cree, as a test drive but Tia is not comfortable with the idea.

Tia and Tamera’s ongoing communication issues escalade into a major argument that forces the sisters to realize they need to seek professional help. They visit a couple’s therapist who teaches them communication techniques which Tia and Tamera look to apply not only with each other but in their everyday lives. Tamera is asked to do some communicating of her own when she is given the opportunity to be a keynote speaker for “Her World,†an organization that promotes education of inner city young women. Tia believes Cree is trying to communicate with her through his baby babble and decides to teach him baby sign language.

Meanwhile, nervous to perform before large crowds, MaCray battles with his self-confidence as he prepares to compete for the ABS hair competition, resulting in the birth of his alter ego, JaCray.
