MIAMI – July 1, 2015  With a resounding 2-0 victory over Germany last night, the United States clinched a spot in the FIFA Women’s World Cup Canada 2015 final match airing this Sunday, July 5 at 6:30PM/5:30C/3:30P on TELEMUNDO, and the NBC Deportes EN VIVO EXTRA mobile app. This will be the first time in eight years that the Women’s World Cup final will be broadcast live on Spanish-language network TV.

“Team USA has unleashed its full potential,” acclaimed NBC Deportes soccer commentator Andrés Cantor remarked following the US win over Germany. “The US has been a favorite to win since the beginning of the tournament, and it has shown consistency and commitment to make it to the final. With terrific players and the support of fans around the country, no matter what their language, the US women are playing for all Americans.”

Japan, winner of the last Women’s World Cup, will face surprise finisher England for a chance to play the US for the first-place trophy. If England wins, it will play its the US on Sunday, the day after America’s July 4 independence celebrations. A Japan-US final, in turn, would give the US a chance to redeem itself against the team that beat it on penalty kicks to take home the cup in Germany 2011.
