SIR ELTON JOHN TO PARTICIPATE IN “HOT TOPICS,” LIVE, MARCH 11 ON ABC’S “THE VIEW”

Bill Geddie, executive producer of ABC’s Emmy® award-winning talk show The View,” announced today that Sir Elton John is confirmed to partake in the “Hot Topics” discussion of ABC’s “The View,” live, THURSDAY, MARCH 11 (11:00 a.m.-12:00 noon, ET). This marks Sir Elton John’s fifth appearance on “The View” and his first time at the signature “Hot Topics” table. Sir Elton John’s prior appearances as a featured guest were 3/31/01, 11/28/01, 2/20/04 and 11/11/08.
Sir Elton John and his partner, David Furnish, are currently promoting “Next Fall,” the Broadway play they’ve produced. Sir Elton and Mr. Furnish also collaborated on the internationally successful Tony® award-winning “Billy Elliot: The Musical.” The show received ten Tony Awards, including Best Musical, 2009.
“The View” features Daytime Emmy® Award-winning hosts Barbara Walters, Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Sherri Shepherd. It’s the original forum in which real women discuss everyday issues, share their opinions and engage in colorful conversations. “The View” is broadcast in HDTV with 5.1-channel surround sound, and is now available to watch online daily at 4:00 p.m., ET/1:00 p.m., PT on the ABC Digital Full Episode Player at ABC.com. “The View” is produced by ABC Daytime and Ms. Walters’ Barwall Productions, with Ms. Walters serving as executive producer along with Bill Geddie, who also serves as executive producer for “The Barbara Walters Specials.” “The View” is directed by Mark Gentile. Musical performances produced and directed by Mark Gentile.
