“THE VIEW” TURNS UP THE HEAT IN AUGUST WITH GUEST APPEARANCES FROM HUNKY
BOX OFFICE SUPERSTARS RYAN REYNOLDS, JASON BATEMAN AND JAMES FRANCO
Summer is in high gear, and ABC’s “The View” (11:00 a.m.-12:00 noon, ET) cranks up the heat with scorching guest appearances from hunky motion picture superstars Ryan Reynolds, Jason Bateman and James Franco, it was announced today by Bill Geddie, executive producer, “The View.”
Those lips. Those eyes. That smile.
Reynolds (“The Green Lantern”), who’ll be promoting his new film, “The Change-Up,” makes his first guest appearance on “The View,” Thursday, Aug. 4. Reynolds was named “Sexiest Man of the Year” by People in 2010.
Bateman, star of “The Change-Up,” is a wildly successful film and TV personality, currently starring in the smash hit comedy “Horrible Bosses” and is also scheduled to appear Thursday, Aug. 4. He has appeared in countless movies, including memorable performances in the Academy Award(tm) -winning film “Juno,” “Up in the Air,” “The Proposal” and “Couple’s Retreat.” He will soon reprise his Golden Globe(tm)-winning role of Michael Bluth in the highly anticipated big screen version of the beloved and critically acclaimed television series, “Arrested Development.”
Franco makes his second appearance on the show, Friday, August 5, the final show of “‘The View’: Season 14.” The “Pineapple Express” star, who received critical acclaim and garnered an Academy Award(tm) nomination for “127 Hours,” stars in the film “Rise of the Planet of the Apes.” Franco, who made national headlines for his guest star role on ABC’s “General Hospital,” will be joined by the film’s co-stars Freida Pinto (Latika in “Slum Dog Millionaire”) and Andy Serkis (Gollum in the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy).
“The View” features Daytime Emmy Award-winning hosts Barbara Walters, Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Sherri Shepherd. It’s the original forum in which real women discuss everyday issues, share their opinions and engage in colorful conversations. “The View,” broadcast in HDTV and produced in 2-channel stereo sound, is now available to watch online daily at 4:00 p.m., ET/1:00 p.m., PT on the ABC Digital Full Episode Player at ABC.com. “The View” is produced by ABC Daytime and Ms. Walters’ Barwall Productions, with Ms. Walters serving as executive producer along with Bill Geddie, who also serves as executive producer for “The Barbara Walters Specials.” “The View” is directed by Mark Gentile.
