RESCUED CHILEAN MINER EDISON PENA TO VISIT CBS’s “LATE SHOW with DAVID LETTERMAN”, THURSDAY, NOV. 4, MARKING FIRST IN-STUDIO INTERVIEW FOR ANY OF THE MINERS SINCE THEIR OCTOBER RESCUE

Peña to Also Run in 2010 New York City Marathon This Weekend

Edison Peña, one of the 33 Chilean miners rescued last month, will visit the LATE SHOW with DAVID LETTERMAN, Thursday, Nov. 4 (11:35 PM-12:37 AM, ET/PT), marking the first in-studio interview for any of the miners since their October rescue.

Peña, who was miraculously rescued along with the 32 other trapped miners, survived the 69-day ordeal by running three to six miles each day in the darkness of the collapsed mine near Copiapó, Chile. Upon hearing his unique story and watching the rescue operation that was televised around the world, the New York Road Runners organization extended an invitation to Peña to run in the 2010 New York City Marathon, which he accepted Monday. This year’s New York City Marathon will be run Sunday, Nov. 7.

The LATE SHOW with DAVID LETTERMAN is a production of Worldwide Pants Incorporated. Barbara Gaines, Matt Roberts, Jude Brennan, Maria Pope, Eric Stangel, Justin Stangel and Rob Burnett are the executive producers.
