ABC News’ Exclusive Interviews, Award-Winning Investigations, Breaking News Coverage, Live Videos and Broadcast Clips Now Available on Amazon’s Best-Selling Tablet
ABC News today launched the ABC News app for Amazon’s Kindle Fire. Now for the first time millions of Kindle Fire users will have access to exclusive interviews, award-winning investigations and broadcast video from ABC News. The Android app is available for free download in the Amazon Appstore for Android online or directly from their Kindle Fire.
In the last year ABC News’ mobile traffic has tripled as the News division has rolled out a robust suite of mobile products, including Android and iPhone apps and the recently relaunched ABC News iPad app. 56% of tablet owners say they get their news on mobile devices every day, up from 53% in 2011, according to Pew Research Center.
“By teaming up with Amazon, ABC News will deliver news and video content to a new and growing digital audience,” said Doug Vance, vice president of Product Strategy for ABC News. “ABC News’ mobile page views have grown over 50% each month since 2011, and our expansion to Kindle Fire is the next step in growing our tablet user base.”
The ABC News app for Kindle Fire will include:
* Top News Headlines: Breaking, national and international news from ABC News anchors and correspondents around the clock
* Live News Video: Live video as news breaks, plus clips from ABC News programs including “Good Morning America,” “World News with Diane Sawyer,” “Nightline,” “20/20″ and “This Week with George Stephanopoulos”
