“The View” co-host Sherri Shepherd and TV writer Lamar Sally are officially engaged, and Shepherd is expected to spill all the juicy details and unveil her ring, MONDAY, JANUARY 10 when “The View” returns live after a two-week holiday hiatus. Sally popped the question on December 26 at his home in Los Angeles, where Shepherd was surprised to find their accommodations decorated with lights, her dog wearing a Santa beard and hat, and in the middle of a dish of M&Ms, a tiny box. The couple has been together for more than a year. They are planning an August wedding in Chicago.
Former Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty (author, Courage to Stand: A Memoir) is confirmed to make his first appearance on ABC’s “The View” live, TUESDAY, JANUARY 11 (11:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon, ET). Pawlenty served as the 39th Governor of Minnesota. He was elected governor in the election of 2002 and was re-elected in 2006. On June 2, 2009, he announced that he would not seek re-election, a decision he later regretted. In 2008 Pawlenty was mentioned as a possible pick for John McCain’s vice presidential running mate. It is now rumored he is contemplating a 2012 presidential bid. His scheduled appearance is part of the show’s continuing “Red, White & View” campaign highlighting interviews and informational segments that promote civic responsibility.
“New You for the New Year,” a one-hour theme show with guests Timothy Ferriss (author, The Four Hour Body), celebrity dermatologist Dr. Fredric Brandt and food specialist and author Brad Lamm, airs FRIDAY, JANUARY 14.
