It’s a stellar week of first-time celebrity guest co-hosts, box office superstars and show-stopping musical performances during Season 14’s finale week on ABC’s “The View,” AUGUST 1-5 (11:00 a.m.-12:00 noon, ET). Featured guests include Ryan Reynolds and Jason Bateman (“The Change-Up”), James Franco, Freida Pinto and Andy Serkis (“Rise of the Planet of the Apes”), Vera Farmiga (“Higher Ground”), Jimmy Fallon (host, “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon”), Dana Delaney (ABC’s “Body of Proof”) and music from Lady Gaga, Alison Kraus & Union Station featuring Jerry Douglas, plus ’80s teen idols Debbie Gibson and Tiffany.
“Put your paws up” . . . All those ‘little monsters’ have something extra special to celebrate on Monday, August 1 when world renowned pop music superstar Lady Gaga will, for the first time, participate in the “Hot Topics” discussion. Gaga will also perform her smash hit single “You and I” on piano. Shewill be seated at the show’s signature “Hot Topics” table alongside the co-hosts for two segments.
Award-winning journalist, best-selling author and television personality Katie Couric will make her first guest co-host appearance on ABC’s “The View,” live, Wednesday, August 3 (11:00 a.m.-12:00 noon, ET). Last month it was officially announced that Disney/ABC signed the former “Today” co-anchor and most recently anchor and managing editor of the “CBS Evening News with Katie Couric” as host and producer of her own one-hour, nationally syndicated daytime talk show, and that she would be joining the ABC News team. Ms. Couric is the author of the best-selling book The Best Advice I Ever Got: Lessons from Extraordinary Lives, and is active on Twitter(tm) @katiecouric.

Summer is in full swing as “The View” cranks up the heat with scorching guest appearances from hunky superstars Ryan Reynolds, Jason Bateman and James Franco. Reynolds (“The Green Lantern”), who’ll be promoting his new film, “The Change-Up,” makes his first guest appearance on “The View,” Thursday, August 4. Bateman, star of “The Change-Up,” is a wildly successful film and TV personality, currently starring in the smash hit comedy “Horrible Bosses,” and is also scheduled to appear Thursday, August 4. Franco makes his second appearance on the show, Friday, August 5, the final show of “‘The View: Season 14.” Franco, who made national headlines for his guest star role on ABC’s “General Hospital” (a role he will reprise on September 20), will be joined by the film’s co-stars Freida Pinto (Latika in “Slum Dog Millionaire”) and Andy Serkis (Gollum in the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy).
On Friday, August 5, a video montage will showcase the wackiest, zaniest, craziest, most dramatic, hysterical, ridiculous and unforgettable moments of Season 14.
