Model/singer/songwriter and actress Vanessa Williams (ABC’s “Ugly Betty”) is confirmed to co-host, live, MONDAY, MARCH 8.
Sir Elton John is confirmed to partake in the “Hot Topics” discussion, live, THURSDAY, MARCH 11 (11:00 a.m.-12:00 noon, ET). This marks Sir Elton John’s fifth appearance on “The View” and his first time at the signature “Hot Topics” table. Sir Elton John’s prior appearances as a featured guest were 3/31/01, 11/28/01, 2/20/04 and 11/11/08.
“‘THE VIEW’: ROAD TO THE OSCARS”: On MONDAY, MARCH 8, Sherri Shepherd will Skype(tm) live from her hotel room in Hollywood to “The View” studio in New York City to provide a full recap of the previous nights festivities and, of course, the parties. As announced live on “The View,” Ms. Shepherd teams with Jess Cagle and Kathy Ireland to serve as the trio of hosts for the 82nd Academy Awards® pre-show, “Oscars Red Carpet… 2010” telecast, which airs on ABC at 5:00 p.m., PT (8:00 p.m., ET), immediately preceding the Oscars telecast. This will be Ms. Shepherd’s first time as a host of the Oscar pre-show.
“The View” features Daytime Emmy® Award-winning hosts Barbara Walters, Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Sherri Shepherd. It’s the original forum in which real women discuss everyday issues, share their opinions and engage in colorful conversations. “The View” is broadcast in HDTV with 5.1-channel surround sound, and is now available to watch online daily at 4:00 p.m., ET/1:00 p.m., PT on the ABC Digital Full Episode Player at ABC.com. “The View” is produced by ABC Daytime and Ms. Walters’ Barwall Productions, with Ms. Walters serving as executive producer along with Bill Geddie, who also serves as executive producer for “The Barbara Walters Specials.” “The View” is directed by Mark Gentile. Musical performances produced and directed by Mark Gentile.
