UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. – August 3, 2010 – NBC offers insiders a sneak peek of its new and returning fall series via broadcast, digital, NBC Universal and cable entities when “The NBC Primetime Preview Show,” a colorful, 30-minute presentation beginning August 7 and continuing through September 26.
The lively program will feature exclusive, behind-the-scenes views to be delivered across a wide gamut of NBC Universal media platforms beginning August 8 through September 27.
The program is estimated to air nearly 500 times over broadcast, digital and cable platforms.
The fresh entertainment show will focus on NBC’s new shows, including “The Event,” “Chase,” “Undercovers,” “Law & Order: Los Angeles,” “Outsourced,” “School Pride” and “Outlaw” — in addition to returning favorites such as “The Office,” “30 Rock” and “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.”
The annual Fall program will be offered to NBC’s 232 television stations (check local listings) as well as other channel entities such as
USA, Syfy, Bravo, UniHD, Chiller, mun2, MSNBC, CNBC, Oxygen, Sleuth, NBC2Go, on-demand and broadband. NBC stations will also make it available on their websites while NBC.com will feature it as well.
In addition, the program will be screened on selected American Airlines flights (estimated to be shown on approximately 11,000 flights).
NBC Premiere Week begins in earnest on Monday, September 20.
NBC’s new shows for fall include “The Event” (Mondays, 9-10 p.m. ET, premiering September 20).
“The Event” is an emotional, high-octane conspiracy thriller that follows Sean Walker (Jason Ritter, “The Class”), an everyman who investigates the mysterious disappearance of his fiancée, Leila (Sarah Roemer, “Disturbia”), and unwittingly begins to expose the biggest cover-up in U.S. history. Blair Underwood also stars as the U.S. President.
Rounding out that same Monday beginning September 20 is “Chase” (10-11 p.m. ET), a new drama from Emmy Award-winning executive producer Jerry Bruckheimer (“CSI” franchise, “The Amazing Race,” “Pirates of the Caribbean”) and executive producer Jennifer Johnson　(“Cold Case,” “Reunion,” “Lost”). “Chase” is a lightning-fast drama that drops viewers smack into the middle of a game of cat-and-mouse as a team of U.S. marshals hunts down America’s most dangerous fugitives. Kelli Giddish (“Past Life”) stars as U.S. Marshal Annie Frost, a cowboy boot–wearing deputy.
Also featured will be “Undercovers” (Wednesdays, 8-9 p.m. ET beginning September 22) from acclaimed writer/producer/director J.J. Abrams (“Star Trek,” “Fringe,” “Lost,” “Alias”). “Undercovers” is a sexy, fun, action-packed spy drama that proves once and for all that marriage is still the world’s most dangerous partnership. Boris Kodjoe (“Tyler Perry’s Madea’s Family Vacation”) and Gugu Mbatha-Raw (“Dr. Who”) star. Likewise, the new series “Law & Order: Los Angeles” (Wednesdays, 10-11 p.m. ET beginning September 22) is the latest procedural drama from the successful brand from executive producer Dick Wolf.
NBC will debut “Outsourced” (Thursdays, 9:30-10 p.m. premiering September 23), a new workplace comedy series, centered around a catalog-based company that sells American novelty goods whose call center suddenly has been outsourced to India.
Ben Rappaport (off-Broadway’s “The Gingerbread House”) stars amid a diverse ensemble cast.
A new version of “The Apprentice” (Thursdays, 10-11 p.m. ET beginning September 23) arrives as
NBC and Donald Trump want to put America back to work. The boardroom will be open again for candidates who have lost their jobs or new college graduates struggling to find employment with Trump returning to preside.
In addition, NBC offers the new alternative series “School Pride” (Fridays, 8-9 p.m. ET debuting September 24), which comes from executive producers Cheryl Hines (“Curb Your Enthusiasm”) and Denise Cramsey (“Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” and “True Beauty”).
“School Pride” is a proactive, alternative series that tells the stories of communities coming together to renovate their aging and broken public schools.
Another new NBC drama for fall is “Outlaw” (Fridays, 10-11 p.m. ET beginning September 24), starring Emmy winner Jimmy Smits (“NYPD Blue,” “The West Wing”). Smits portrays Cyrus Garza, a maverick and playboy who walks away from a Supreme Court appointment to return to private practice.
In addition to the new series, the special will focus on returning series.
