PELICAN ANNOUNCE FALL TOUR

September 3, 2009 by

28 CITY NORTH AMERICAN STRIKE BEGINS IN SEPTEMBER

Pelican will embark on a massive tour this October in support of their upcoming album What We All Come To Need (out October 27th on Southern Lord).  Kicking off September 22nd with a select appearance at the Brooklyn Masonic Temple alongside Sunn O))), Earth, and Eagle Twin, their headlining tour begins October 18th in Minneapolis through mid-December.  Supporting on most dates will be Black Cobra and Sweet Cobra, two completely separate Cobra-related bands battling for your soul while the mighty Pelican rips, tears and shears away what little humanity you have left.  Full tour dates below.

Their fourth studio album What We All Come To Need further refines the complex wall of sound that Pelican is known for, setting new precedents for the Chicago-based instrumental group.  Featuring guest appearances from fellow artists Greg Anderson (Sunn O)))), Aaron Turner (Isis), Ben Verellen (Harkonen), Helms Alee (The Life & Times, Shiner), and Allen Epley (The Life & Times, Shiner).

Press on Pelican:
“There is epic music and there is epic music.  Chicago instrumental quartet Pelican is proudly guilty of producing the latter, penning tunes so ambitious and triumphant that your everyday life seems insignificant in comparison.” – XLR8R

“Completely instrumental, louder than hell, and more solid than an Amish barn.” — VICE
