New York, NY (July 24, 2012) – MTV today announced it will re-open the doors of the iconic fashion series, House of Style, across all MTV screens on October 9, 2012. Reflecting today’s fast paced world of fashion, the new House of Style series will be digitally driven, live primarily on MTV Style, and will extend across all MTV digital and social screens with TV integrations as well. The new host will be revealed live on the red carpet at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards on Thursday, September 6, 2012 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT.

“House of Style is deeply rooted in celebrating and drawing energy from our audience’s mix-and-match love of fashion, music and pop culture,” said Dave Sirulnick, executive vice president, News and Production, MTV. “In bringing back House of Style, we’re once again looking to spotlight the spirit, personality and sometimes humor of the most interesting people in fashion who personify the energy of style in 2012.”

In celebration of the Series’ forthcoming return, for the first time, MTV is today unlocking House of Style ‘Collection,’ a digital archive, filled with more than 150 clips thousands of still images from legends including supermodel and former host Cindy Crawford, Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour, CFDA award-winning designer Marc Jacobs and legendary singer and fashion designer Gwen Stefani, sponsored exclusively by Magnum Ice Cream. In addition to the clips, each piece is accompanied with newly-penned editorial content by MTV Style Senior Editor Mary H.K. Choi, that contextualizes the information for fashion fans past and present.

Also as part of the re-launch, MTV will release the documentary  “House of Style: Music, Models and MTV” full documentary on Tuesday, August 7, which celebrates the evolution of fashion and will tell the story of the Series, examine the connection between music and fashion in the 90s, and highlight the influence that 90s style has on today. The doc will also chart the rise of the supermodel, the evolution of the designer as mega brand and how fashion became synonymous with pop culture, featuring past and present style icons. In anticipation of that release, MTV today will make available a sneak peek of the doc trailer, available on houseofstyle.MTV.com

The host and additional show talent slated to appear, including behind-the-scenes board members and the official House of Style muse, will be announced live on the red carpet of 2012 MTV Video Music Awards on September 6th.
