Daytime Television’s Hottest Talk Show Welcomes a Flurry of
Academy Award® and Golden Globe Award Winners & Past Nominees

Awards season is upon us yet again and the guy on everyone’s mind is named Oscar®. In celebration of the upcoming 82nd Annual Academy Awards, live, Sunday, March 2 on ABC, the hosts of ABC’s “The View” roll out the red carpet and welcome a spectacular roster of Oscar and Golden Globe winners and past nominees.

In addition, viewers will get their annual sneak-peek at the stars featured in Barbara Walters’ 2010 Oscar special airing the night of the Academy Awards.

All five co-hosts, including “The View” moderator Whoopi Goldberg (1991 Oscar for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for “Ghost”; 1986 Oscar nominee for Best Actress in a Leading Role for “The Color Purple”; 1986 Golden Globe winner for Best performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama for “The Color Purple”; 1991 Golden Globe winner for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture – Drama for “Ghost”; 1993 Golden Globe nominee for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Comedy/Musical for “Sister Act”) will weigh in on all the potential hopefuls, nominees and winners.

FEBRUARY 2 – Melissa Rivers (author, Red Carpet Ready: Secrets for Making the Most of Any Moment You’re in the Spotlight). Okay, so she’s not an Oscar or Golden Globe Award winner, but she has interviewed the creme de la creme in Hollywood and is no stranger to the red carpet.

“The View” features Daytime Emmy® Award-winning hosts Barbara Walters, Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Sherri Shepherd. It’s the original forum in which real women discuss everyday issues, share their opinions and engage in colorful conversations. Since its launch, “The View” has received 28 Daytime Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Talk Show and Outstanding Talk Show host honoring Barbara Walters, Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Sherri Shepherd. Daytime Emmy Award history was made on Aug. 30, 2009 when the hosts of “The View” were awarded the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Talk Show Host. It was the first time in the 36 year history of NATAS that multiple hosts were bestowed that honor in this category. “The View” has received 11 consecutive nominations for Outstanding Daytime Talk Show and 12 consecutive nominations for Outstanding Talk Show Host.
