“JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE” CELEBRATES THE 2ND ANNUAL NATIONAL UNFRIEND DAY (NOVEMBER 17, 2011)

Last year Jimmy Kimmel declared November 17 – National UnFriend Day (NUD). NUD is a holiday dedicated to giving Facebook users the opportunity to “unfriend” people without any guilt. This annual event was created to weed out people on Facebook whom users wouldn’t usually have contact with in their day to day lives, reserving the connection only for true friends.

This year, Kimmel is gearing up for NUD by encouraging people to evaluate their Facebook “friendships.” On November 17, join the late night host and pledge to cleanse your Facebook page of non-friends.

During this year’s NUD celebration, “Jimmy Kimmel Live” welcomes Twilight’s Peter Facinelli, Jamie Oliver, and musical guest Vince Gill.

Packed with hilarious comedy bits and a house band led by Jimmy’s childhood best friend, “Jimmy Kimmel Live” features a diverse lineup of guests that includes celebrities, athletes, musicians, comedians and humorous human interest subjects. The recipient of a 2010 Clio award for innovative media, each night, Jimmy delivers up-to-the minute news addressing the hottest topics of the day in his monologue and has welcomed such notables as Clint Eastwood, Ryan Gosling, Jeff Bridges, Cameron Diaz, Kevin Spacey, Amy Adams, Sigourney Weaver, Bruce Willis, Tom Cruise, Dustin Hoffman, Zach Galifianakis, Anne Hathaway, Ben Affleck, Diane Sawyer, Sylvester Stallone, Zac Efron, Sofia Vergara, Bill Cosby, Gabourey Sidibe, Robert Downey Jr., Charlize Theron, Jamie Foxx, Matthew McConaughey, Jim Carrey, Reese Witherspoon, Mel Gibson, Josh Groban, Diddy, Harrison Ford, Michael Douglas, Robin Williams, Heidi Klum, Janet Jackson and many more, including Matt Damon… well, almost Matt Damon.

Kimmel has also created many one-of-a-kind concert experiences by closing down Hollywood Blvd. for musical events with Jay-Z, Coldplay and Depeche Mode as well as special outdoor and lobby performances by Mary J. Blige, Carrie Underwood, Weezer, Them Crooked Vultures, Alice in Chains, Kelly Clarkson, Good Charlotte, Drake, Phoenix, MGMT, Ke$ha, Tim McGraw, Foo Fighters, The Killers, 50 Cent, John Mayer, Shakira, Pink, Usher and Mariah Carey.

Jimmy Kimmel and Jill Leiderman serve as executive producers and Jason Schrift and Douglas DeLuca serve as co-executive producers. Emmy Award-winning “Jimmy Kimmel Live” is shot live in front of a studio audience and produced by Jackhole Industries in association with ABC Studios. For more go to www.jimmykimmellive.com.
