“HAPPY FEET” AIRS AS THE “ABC FRIDAY MOVIE OF THE WEEK,” NOVEMBER 26

“Happy Feet,” the computer-animated musical comedy starring Elijah Wood, Robin Williams, the late Brittany Murphy, Nicole Kidman and Huge Jackman, will air as the “ABC Friday Movie of the Week,” NOVEMBER 26 (8:00-10:00 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network. (Rebroadcast. OAD 5/8/09). Winner of the 2007 Academy Award for Best Animated Feature Film of the Year, “Happy Feet” was also nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Song Written for Motion Picture, Television or Other Visual Media for “The Song of the Heart” by the artist Prince. The 2006 film will be broadcast in HDTV format with 5.1-channel surround sound and Spanish audio.

Set on Antarctica, “Happy Feet” tells the story of the Emperor Penguins who express their true love with a special ‘Heartsong’ that attracts their soul mates.  When a baby penguin named Mumble (Elijah Wood) hatches from his cracked egg, it is soon discovered that he has a terrible singing voice but an incredible ability to tap dance.  Ostracized by his colony and separated from his mother, Norma Jean (Nicole Kidman), father Memphis (Hugh Jackman) and best friend Gloria (Brittany Murphy), an adolescent Mumble ventures into the icy landscape where he is met with challenges and, eventually, friends.  While on an incredible adventure, Mumble discovers and conquers a threat to the penguins’ survival and realizes that his toe tapping may be a gift to be treasured.
