2015-16 Season: 

For the 2015-16 season, ABC News’ “Good Morning America” finished as the No. 1 morning newscast in Total Viewers (4.738 million), based on Most Current Data from Nielsen Media Research. “GMA” outdelivered “Today” (4.589 million) by 149,000 to rank No. 1 for the 4th season in a row in Total Viewers, its longest season run at No. 1 in more than 20 years – since before the 1991-92 season (Nielsen’s electronic database started on September of 1991).

“Good Morning America” turned in a dominant performance during the 2015-16 season, winning 48 of 52 weeks in Total Viewers.

Week of September 12, 2016:

 “Good Morning America” stood as the No. 1 morning newscast in the final week of the 2015-16 season in Total Viewers (4.465 million) for the week of September 12, 2016, based on Live + Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. “GMA” more than tripled its lead over NBC’s “Today” (4.248 million) compared to its lead from the previous week (+214% – 217,000 vs. 69,000 for w/o 9/5/16) to its largest in 6 weeks – since w/o 8/1/16.

“GMA” narrowed its margins with “Today” by double digits week to week in Adults 25-54 (-20% – 229,000 vs. 287,000) and Adults 18-49 (-15% – 204,000 vs. 241,000).

During the week, “GMA” beat “CBS This Morning” in Total Viewers (+34%/+1.131 million), Adults 25-54 (+40%/+414,000) and Adults 18-49 (+34%/+257,000).

3Q 2016:

For the 3rd quarter 2016, “Good Morning America” averaged 4.265 million Total Viewers, 1.386 million Adults 25-54 and 986,000 Adults 18-49, based on Most Current Data from Nielsen Media Research.  

“GMA” beat “CBS This Morning” during 3Q16 by 941,000 Total Viewers, 425,000 Adults 25-54 and 307,000 Adults 18-49.
