DICHEN LACHMAN JOINS BEING HUMAN’S VAMPIRE FOLD IN SECOND SEASON OF SYFY’S HIT ORIGINAL SERIES

NEW YORK – June 30, 2011 – Dichen Lachman is joining the cast of Syfy’s hit original drama series Being Human, produced by Muse Entertainment. Lachman will portray Izumi, a reclusive, centuries-old vampire royal whose unexpected return to Boston’s vampire society throws main character Aidan (Sam Witwer) and the city into disarray. Being Human begins production on its second season this month in Montreal and will air in 2012.

Dichen Lachman previously co-starred as Sierra on Joss Whedon’s FOX series Dollhouse and has guest starred on Hawaii Five-0, NCIS LA and the upcoming season of Torchwood. She is represented by Jennifer Craig of The Gersh Agency and Mel McKeon and Laura Myones of McKeon-Myones Management.

Being Human became an instant hit for Syfy when it premiered in January 2011 averaging 1.8 million viewers making it the channel’s most successful winter season scripted series launch in 6 years.

In the series, leading everyday lives is a lot harder than it looks for three supernatural roommates – vampire Aidan (Sam Witwer), ghost Sally (Meaghan Rath) and werewolf Josh (Sam Huntington) – who share their secrets and a Boston brownstone. Together they learn that there are fates worse than death and more to life – and the afterlife – than most “normal” humans could ever imagine.

Executive Producers are Michael Prupas (The Kennedys, Pillars of the Earth), Jeremy Carver (Supernatural) and Anna Fricke (Men in Trees, Everwood) who are both writers/showrunners, Adam Kane (The Mentalist, Heroes) and Rob Pursey and Toby Whithouse. Irene Litinsky is series Producer.

Being Human is a Muse Entertainment production in association with Zodiak USA. It is based on the acclaimed series, Being Human, created by Toby Whithouse and produced by Touchpaper Television, part of Zodiak Media Group.
