Country music star Chris Young is set to perform on the AMERICAN COUNTRY AWARDS, airing live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas tonight, Monday, Dec. 5 (8:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed) on FOX. Young joins previously announced performers Alabama, Toby Keith, Blake Shelton, Pistol Annies, Thompson Square, Eli Young Band and The Band Perry, along with co-hosts Trace Adkins and Kristin Chenoweth. Additionally, Kyle Busch, Hunter Hayes, Jamie Little, Brad Paisley, Storme Warren and Love & Theft are also scheduled to appear.
This has been an amazing year for Young, with recent nominations including: CMA New Artist of the Year, three American Country Awards, and his first Grammy nod, in addition to four national TV appearances. With his rich, warm baritone and penchant for writing relatable, slice-of-life songs, Young has emerged as a favorite of critics and fans. In the last few months, Young has celebrated “gold†selling status both for his sophomore album “The Man I Want to Be,†and smash single, “Tomorrow,” from the new album, “Neon.†His latest single and follow-up to four consecutive No. 1s, “Youâ€, is racing up the charts. The second annual AMERICAN COUNTRY AWARDS, hosted by Trace Adkins and Kristin Chenoweth, is the only country music awards show that gives fans the opportunity to vote for their favorite artists not only in traditional categories but also in previously unrecognized areas of the business such as touring, encompassing the entire spectrum of country music and bestowing honors that no other awards show has. The special will also include appearances by Josh Turner, Jordin Sparks, The Big Show, The JaneDear Girls, Bill Engvall, Larry Mahan and Rodney Carrington. Previously announced participants include Lauren Alaina, Miranda Lambert, Scotty McCreery and the men of “Pawn Stars†(Richard Harrison, Rick Harrison, Corey Harrison and Austin Russell).
