A New Single from the Innovative New Artist Tu Phace

Beginning at midnight on Wednesday, September 15 (12:01 a.m., ET on Thursday, September 16), ABC’s Music Lounge will launch the free download of the new single from Philadelphia-based Epic Records recording artist Tu Phace entitled “Change.” It will be available free for an exclusive window of 48 hours. This will the first glimpse of music that will both be inspired by and featured in the new fall drama series, “My Generation.” New songs and artists will be spotlighted on ABC Music Lounge throughout the season, culminating to the release of an original soundtrack for “My Generation” in December 2010.

“We are thrilled to have a show that not only features great new artists, but also give us an opportunity to showcase new music inspired by the show and its characters,” says Peter DiCecco, senior vice president of Business and Legal Affairs, Music, Disney/ABC Television Group and Dawn Soler, vice president of TV Music, Disney/ABC Television Group.

The music of “My Generation” will be reflective of the coming-of-age stories of its nine main characters. The featured songs for download and upcoming soundtrack will allow viewers to share in their journeys and have a more interactive experience.

Premiering Thursday, September 23 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET), “My Generation” follows the lives of nine friends and the promises of what their futures could bring, how far they’ve come and how they got there, as told through the camera of a documentary film crew. “My Generation” stars Michael Stahl David as Steven, Jaime King as Jacqueline, Kelli Garner as Dawn, Keir O’Donnell as Kenneth, Mehcad Brooks as Rolly, Julian Morris as Anders, Daniella Alonso as Brenda, Anne Son as Caroline, Sebastian Sozzi as Falcon and Elizabeth Keener as the filmmaker. Based on a Swedish format entitled “On God’s Highway,” “My Generation” was created and written by Noah Hawley (“The Unusuals,” “Bones”), who is also an executive producer along with Warren Littlefield, Henrik Bastin, Peter Magnusson and Martin Persson. The project is from ABC Studios.

ABC Music Lounge, which launched in May 2009 on ABC.com, provides users an interactive online music experience that is uniquely ABC. Reflective of the network’s commitment to using digital platforms to deepen its relationship with viewers, the ABC Music Lounge showcases everything about the music and artists featured on ABC’s popular primetime schedule, offering a deep catalog of music-related content. The site features a streaming radio station programmed with over 24 hours of music featured on such ABC series as “Brothers & Sisters,” “Castle,” “Desperate Housewives,” “Grey’s Anatomy ” and “Private Practice,” among others. Visitors to the site can get a glimpse of ABC’s music future as the radio station also showcases new music picked by series producers, music supervisors and others involved in the music selection process for shows that have previously seen tremendous success.

In addition to a streaming radio station, the ABC Music Lounge is home to music videos, exclusive performance footage, photos and behind-the-scenes interviews with artists, series producers and music supervisors on topics such as “why certain songs were chosen for specific scenes” and “how having their music featured within a show affected their careers.”
