ALL ELEVEN CONTENDERS ON OXYGEN’S “THE GLEE PROJECT” REMAIN ON THE CALL BACK LIST FOLLOWING THE EMOTIONALLY DRIVEN “VULNERABILITY” WEEK

NEW YORK – June 20, 2012 – Tuesday’s powerful episode of Oxygen’s “The Glee Project” took an emotional turn as the remaining eleven contenders approached “Vulnerability” week. “Glee” series regular Cory Monteith (Finn Hudson) mentored the group, who came together to perform a moving rendition of Kelly Clarkson’s “My Life Would Suck Without You” for the homework assignment. Then, music video producer Erik White came to “The Glee Project” headquarters to draw upon the contender’s raw emotion in a discussion centered around bullying. To raise awareness of this issue, Oxygen collaborated with The Bully Project on various digital platforms as well as aired their PSA featuring Monteith. The well-known LeAnn Rimes, who has fiercely supported this cause, also took part in Oxygen’s dual screen viewing experience, OxygenLive, to talk about bullying.

Following the heartfelt discussion by contenders on their experiences with bullying, the group prepared for the main challenge: a music video of “Everybody Hurts” by R.E.M. As some of the contenders easily discovered their sensitive sides, others struggled to let down their guard and reveal their deeper emotions. In the end Lily Mae Harrington, Charlie Lubeck and Mario Bonds were asked to do last chance performances for Ryan Murphy.

Continuing with the theme of “Vulnerability” Lily Mae Harrington became emotional after performing “Mercy” by Duffy during her last chance performance. Then, Charlie Lubeck took a risk and changed the musical arrangement of Coldplay’s “Fix You,” leaving Ryan Murphy surprisingly pleased. After Mario Bonds gave his all in a performance of “Somewhere Over The Rainbow,” Ryan, alongside on-air mentors Robert Ulrich, Nikki Anders and Zach Woodlee, decided to keep all eleven contenders on the call back list.

With no contenders sent home this week, the competition intensifies as “The Glee Project” heads into “Sexuality” week on Tuesday, June 26th at 10PM ET/PT. Naya Rivera joins the group and she gives insight to her sassy and very sensual “Glee” character, Santana Lopez.

“The Glee Project” is produced by Ryan Murphy Television and Embassy Row with Ryan Murphy, Dante Di Loreto, Michael Davies and Shauna Minoprio serving as executive producers.About Oxygen Media
