Two Time Oscar®-Nominee Brenda Blethyn Leads the New ITV1 Drama

Acorn TV, a new online streaming service that makes award-winning British mysteries and dramas available to American audiences, is now streaming the complete season of critically acclaimed new series Vera for the first time exclusively at http://acornonline.com/tv. Consumers will be able to watch the series online before Vera makes its American television debut.
Vera stars two-time Academy Award®-nominee Brenda Blethyn (Pride & Prejudice, Secrets & Lies) in the popular ITV1 series. The British detective series is based on the bestselling mystery novels by Ann Cleeves. New England detective Vera Stanhope is a solitary, obsessed, caustic, brilliant investigator, and a bit disheveled. Filmed in the Northumberland villages of the original books, the series includes four feature-length, character-driven crime dramas. Vera premiered in the U.K. in summer 2011 to rave reviews and is already commissioned for a second series.
